Action Alert
Last spring, the Senate
adopted a renewable energy standard requiring utilities to produce 10
percent of our nation's electricity from clean renewable sources such as
solar, wind, and geothermal by 2020. This standard would save consumers
money on their utility bills, benefit farmers, create jobs and spur
economic development. Encouraging the use of renewable energy would
reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions that threaten public
health. Please urge your representative to support a renewable energy
standard at least as strong as the Senate version.
