For the latest information on energy conservation, efficiency or renewable energy sources like solar and wind energy please visit RELI.

RELI is a membership-based, non-for-profit organization promoting clean, sustainable energy use and generation for Long Island. RELI seeks public participation in energy policy decisions to encourage energy efficiency, use of renewable energy sources, and to protect our environment, economy, and public health.

Clean Energy - Safe Environment - Healthy Planet

In February 2003, a series of joint public energy hearings were held in Far Rockaway, Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Over 200 Long Island ratepayers attended these important hearings with over 100 people submitting thoughtful and constructive testimony on what they would like to see in Long Island's energy future. We would like to thank everyone who took time from their busy schedules to attend, and for submitting your opinions and concerns about our Island's energy policies.

Action Alert

Wind TurbineLast spring, the Senate adopted a renewable energy standard requiring utilities to produce 10 percent of our nation's electricity from clean renewable sources such as solar, wind, and geothermal by 2020. This standard would save consumers money on their utility bills, benefit farmers, create jobs and spur economic development. Encouraging the use of renewable energy would reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions that threaten public health. Please urge your representative to support a renewable energy standard at least as strong as the Senate version.
